Welcome to the first Card of the Day.

For the first Card of the Day articles we've decided to review the Loot Cards.

Todays card is Landro Longshot.

Bowsermaster12

Landro Longshot, not only a card but an ingame NPC made specifically for this card game. By going to Booty Bay you can find this goblin on the lower docks and tell him a code to recieve a prize.

Card wise he seems so-so. A 1/3 for (2) is good since he can take a beating and still live. He isnt one to rush into battle though, so 1 attack is no big deal, the last thing youll do with him is swing at your opponent. Hes more of the risky gambler type, He hangs back on the sidelines as you use his ability.

By dropping 1 card you have the oppertunity to draw your next two cards. Judging you have utter crap in your hand that doesnt sound to bad. Let me just remind you, you ditch a card for 2 cards. So your only really drawing 1 card and the cost of one card. Even worse if you dont get a good flip you just lost a card for nothing. Of course you can always pay the two to do it agian. So by the time you have gotten your draw from his ability, You have lost one card and paided about (3). Mana Agate gets you 2 draws for that much and you dont need to ditch a card for it to work. Of course this is an ally that can fight for you, but with low atk hes not going to help much.

IMO He can go into any deck, But i would suggest maybe only one. His code is for an ingame tabard and at the time that the loot cards were worth alot I would have sold it, but since the prices are going down a bit and its getting harder to sell them id just use the code.

Final Review:
-Draws a good ammount, but is it worth it?
-Any faction can play it, Making it good in any deck
-He has good ammount of health so youll opponent would have to do 3 damage to it before it dies, by that time you may have gotten a few draws out of it.

Rating (1 being bad/5 being best)
2.75/5

If you've got a code from a loot card Landro is the ma- er... goblin to see. He'll give you the Turtle, Hippogryph or Tabard you've been looking for.

As far the card...
Luck.
That's what it comes down to.
1 ATK and 3 Health seems worthy for a 2-drop, but his ability doesn't cut it.
Firstly, he has to live until the turn after he was played because his ability is a a ability, then to use the ability you have to discard one card. If the coin doesn't come up heads you've lost yourself a card, an attack with Landro and a resource.
However, Landro has his own safety net. By paying 2 resources you can reflip the coin. This gives you equal odds of getting it right and giving yourself an extra card in your hand (you draw 2 but you had to discard 1). Then there's a chance you will miss again, and if you wan't to reflip you'll have to pay another 2 resources.

If luck is with you, you get an extra card in your hand for 1 resource.
If luck is against you, you lose a card in your hand, or pay 2 to reflip.

I'm not a very big fan of the 'L' word while playing a TCG, as victory should be decided through as much skill as possible and not through luck.

Raid: 0/5 (You'll need more than +1 hand advantage in a raid)
Sealed: 0/5 (Nice pull, but I wouldn't use him unless I had to)
Lazy Peon: N/A (rofl)
Constructed: 0/5 (Luck)

Conclusion: Nice pull, but I wouldn't use him.
Sorry Landro.

Comments:

I think he is utterly terrible. Even if he was slightly cheaper to use he would be only playable in a sealed where you had almost nothing to play on 2. A pity, one of the worst cards in the game.
