Game Theory is definitely a fundamental to any TCG. good to see you go over it here (b/c i'm too lazy, hehe :P)

one thing that i like to add is Resiliency. it kinda falls under Inevitability but not exactly so that's something you can talk about also. the reason i bring it up is i love decks w/ Resiliency. anything that can just pick up the pieces and win is my type of deck.

FYI, The one thing i learned about this TCG is that its not always good to compare it to MTG. I have played MTG for years now and I understand what you are trying to say tho.

Getting that first article written...

Bowsermaster: Yes, it is a very different game. What I'm trying to say is that most of the rules are quite similar. The three or four main things that are different are really, really important, however, and change the game a lot. If there was no difference, I would just tell you to go read all of those great Magic articles already written.

Sounds like I'm not very good at this... Maybe that's why my decks always suck...

Great post, I can't wait to see the first feature. I'll chip in with helpful comments if I can, as I studied some of this as a MTG and Warlord player.

A subject I was considering posting on is deck balance...

Hey guys. Just figured I'd check in and let you know that I plan to have the first real article of the series up on Christmas Eve. I'm away on a business trip right now, using a kiosk to check my mail and such, and don't have enough access to the computer to write it until I come back on Friday night. Thanks for all of your comments, and I'm looking forward to more!

Another subject you could take on if you're up for a challenge is Velocity. It's a largely unexplored area of TCG theory, so there's a lot of room for you to innovate and define your own terms. I bring it up because I think that it applies to WoW more than any other TCG on the market.

Coming home later today!

Could you PM me a good example of Velocity? I haven't heard that particular term used before...

I also love the Magic theory. Another topic you may cover is one that was addressed in an old Magic article by Mike Flores I believe called Who's the Beatdown? The basic principle is recognizing when you should adapt out of your deck's main plan. For instance, recognizing you're playing a rush deck vs. a rush deck that is faster means you should switch and play the game as a control deck. It's a very good topic and applies greatly to this game with the amount of mid-range control decks there are today.

Yes, I love 'who's the beatdown.' I'll do that too.
