Hey everybody. I've decided to put the follow up Card Advantage article off for a bit to talk about Tempo.

Have you ever played against a weenie rush deck? Where they drop one ally on turn one, two on turn two, two on turn three, and you get overrun. That deck utilized the other 'most powerful' concept of Game Theory, tempo.

Game Theory: Card Advantage by steev
Hello everyone, I'm back with the first true installment of my series of articles on WoW theory. This particular edition is on one of the most important fundamental theory: Card advantage.

Card advantage boils down to a single idea: the player with more cards in hand has more options, and therefore, more easily wins the game. This simple idea is quite powerful in practice.

So what exactly is game theory?

Game theory is defined by Wikipedia as "a branch of applied mathematics and economics that studies situations where players choose different actions in an attempt to maximize their returns." What does that mean, and how does it relate to the World of Warcraft TCG (hereafter abbreviated as 'WoW')?
